Brain-Gut Research Group (BGRG) is an international academic research institute with headquarters in Switzerland. BGRG acts as a contract research organization that focuses on Phase I and Phase II clinical studies in gastroenterology, including Functional Bowel Disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Functional Dyspepsia, Gastroesophageal reflux (GERD), GI motility, cytochrome P450 poor metabolizers, in pain, including acute pain, visceral pain, chronic pain, neuropathic pain, in obesity and the metabolic syndrome. Pharmacokinetic, translational, biomarker, surrogate measure studies can be performed with a wide range of technologies, such as pH-metry, impedance pH-metry, barostat, manometry, functional magnetic resonance imaging fMRI, bioimaging and divers pain models.
